Though I love that I get to write about the tech industry every day, itâs touched by gender, racial, and socioeconomic inequality and I try to bring these topics to light. I put great care into writing gift guides and am always touched by the notes I get from people whoâve used them to choose presents that have been well-received. Iâve had the pleasure of talking tech with Jeff Goldblum, Ang Lee, and other celebrities who have brought a different perspective to it. I strive to explain topics that you might come across in the news but not fully understand, such as NFTs and meme stocks. Or maybe youâve just seen my Bernie meme. You might have seen me on TV talking about these topics or heard me on your commute home on the radio or a podcast. Iâve been at PCMag since 2011 and have covered the surveillance state, vaccination cards, ghost guns, voting, ISIS, art, fashion, film, design, gender bias, and more. Tap Auto-delete to select a timeframe for when Google will automatically delete Maps data Look for the Delete drop-down menu, where you can opt to delete your history from today, all time, or a custom range. On mobile, go to Settings > Maps History, which will bring you to a Maps Activity page. Click Location History > Choose an auto-delete option, and choose how often Google will delete your data (every 3, 18, or 36 months). To periodically auto-delete your history, navigate to (Opens in a new window). On the bottom-right of the map, click the trashcan icon to delete all your location history permanently. You'll see a map with a timeline of your activity. You'll end up on a page titled Google-wide Controls, where you can go to Location History > See & delete activity. Click the hamburger menu, and select Your data in Maps. This attaches the MapFragment to our MainActivity. Add the map fragment in the contentmain.xml layout as we had done in the previous tutorial. Features include map markers, map types, camera animations and a few more. On a desktop, go to (Opens in a new window). In this tutorial weâll implement a few interesting features provided by the Android Google Maps API. A lite mode map is a bitmap image of a map at a specified location and zoom level. If you'd rather it lose your Maps data, you can erase it on desktop or mobile. The Google Maps Android API can serve a static image as a lite mode map. Google maintains a very detailed record of your digital activities.
